This year’s Mainstage show for the Slammenberry Jam Urban Dance Festival is a dangerous and sultry murder mystery that reveals a daringly theatrical side of urban culture. An all-star cast of Calgary’s finest urban artists (with a couple of very special Guests from MTL) give life to the scene of the crime through thrilling dance, soulful live music, beatboxing and spoken word and always a hint of comedy. An urban jazz lounge sets the stage for B-boys, poppers and hip hop suspects as they lay down clues for you to decipher....Whodunnit?

A multimedia, multi-sensory event featuring live performances by House of Dangerkat In the past two years the HOD’s performance list has grown substantially. They’ve shared the stage with Producer/DJ Diplo at the 2008 Central Park Summer Stage in New York, a festival which also featured artists such as Santigold, Blaqstarr, Kid Cudi and A-Trak. Most recently the HOD performed a commisioned piece for the Colette (Paris) 50th Anniversary party for Barbie, featuring co-exhibitors Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel) and Jeremy Scott. http://www.dangerkat.com

Dance in the Park
Saturday, October 3rd, Cochrane, Alberta
presented through the Solocentric Festival and Blue Collar Dance
Mitford Park, on the Mitford outdoor stage, in Cochrane AB (off highway 22 by the skateboard park)
Gates open at 1pm, show starts at 1:30pm
Dance Day in the Park is an informal outdoor show featuring 8-10, 5 minute solo dance pieces in modern, urban and other dance styles. Audience is encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the show and admission is free.
Raise It Up! Dance Workshop October 4th
Karo Group Warehouse, 1817 10th Ave SW, Calgary
Featuring Bboy Rein (Breaking), Tara Wilson (Funk Styles), Colours (Performance Flava), and Lady C (House)
Classes are beginner to intermediate level, all dancers welcome!
All proceeds go towards helping 2 lower income dancers from Recife, Brazil further their studies in dance.
$10 per class/$35 full day.... workshop runs from 11:00am-3:00pm
